DECK TENSION TIE Z COATED

The coated and stainless steel deck tension ties provide high-strength lateral load connections designed to meet the International Residential Code (IRC) requirement for a 1,500 lb. connection at two locations per deck, as outlined in IRC R507.9.2(1). These connectors are a smart solution for new construction or retrofits, offering reliable performance in securing decks to homes and can also be used to enhance guardrail post safety. With models available in coated and stainless steel, the deck tension tie series is built for strength, durability and code compliance in a wide range of environments.

The deck tension tie is a coated tension tie designed to resist lateral forces in deck-to-structure connections. Additionally, the deck tie has been tested and evaluated in deck guardrail post applications. It installs on the wide face of a single or double 2x member using included Heavy-Duty Connector screws and accepts a 1/2"-diameter bolt or anchor bolt. The deck tension tie is also available in configurations with longer connector screws  to achieve higher allowable loads when required.

The deck tension in stainless steel offers the same proven performance as the coated but is made from 316 stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance in coastal, high-moisture and preservative-treated wood applications. It installs using Heavy-Duty Connector screws (included), and like its coated counterpart, it’s designed to secure the deck to the structure or reinforce guardrail posts for added safety in severe environments. The stainless steel version is ideal for jobsites that demand enhanced durability and long-term protection against corrosion.
